Re-invention, some days that word excites me, some days it makes me anxious. I'm a mom. I was a Production Manager in my past life. I'll always be "mom", but the role has changed dramatically. My teens don't need me like they use to, but they still need me around. Really, mostly, in the background! So I spend my time creating: painting watercolors, taking photos, making jewelry, trying a little mixed-media, cooking and decorating my home for the changing seasons. I love collecting items for future creations, whatever they may be; sometimes it's fabric, ribbon, old jewelry, a bargain at one of my favorite stores. (I love a bargain.)

So, back to re-invention. Who am I now? What do I want to be? How do I get there? Who else is going through this? It's tricky. I often say, "One day at a time" and have always believed that "Life's an adventure". Right now, it feels like I'm on a roller coaster! I love roller coasters, but always feel a bit apprehensive before the ride begins!

Hi there Poppi Linn. Yes, we are all very complex creatures, we human beings. We are moms but before that we were children trying to find ourselves in this world. Now we are older children trying to find ourselves in this world, in addition to being moms and guiding our children to find their way. And thus, the circle of life. I am proud of you and what you have accomplished with your artwork and creations. You go girlfriend!!!
Yes, my kids are adults and I'm constantly reinventing myself, now that they are on their own. I've been doing watercolors for 3 years now and really enjoy it. Really liked your seascape. Keep at it!

Thank you both for your positive comments! Our roles are constantly changing in life! Just seems harder to figure it out now. When we were in college, then our careers, we were with like minds, now as a mom I find it more difficult to meet people with the same interests! That's why this blog was started-hopefully, others will join in for some discussions!
I worked in the Federal Court system until at 41 I found out I was pregnant and decided to retire and come home with this baby. Mind you I have a 19, 17 and 13 year old too so I am all over the map of motherhood. My youngest will be three next week. It is sweet though. Life is good. Happy blogging and I am glad you stopped by my blog today. Will add you to my blog roll and get some more friends your way.
