October?

Wow-we got hit yesterday.
A lot of trees & branches down,  slippery roads, power outages,
phones out, even cell phones.
The thruway, the Taconic Parkway were closed and of course
the side roads. All the hotels were booked leaving many
travelers stranded. Like my daughter and husband!
They were in NYC, got halfway home and were told to go South,
everything was closed! They ended up driving South of NYC to stay with family.
6 hours driving in sleet and snow! Now the roads are clear for their trip home!
Crazy! Now the sun is out-like nothing happened!

Yesterday

Today-the sun is shining and slowly melting the snow.

Lynn, I glad to hear your daughter and husband were safe yesterday and found a place to stay with family. I'm glad the snow is melting. In 1991 on Halloween Day Minnesota had a snowstorm with 28 inches of snow and it didn't melt until spring, :0(
Hopefully yours will be gone by tomorrow.
Happy Halloween

We have certainly had some wacky weather. I'm glad everyone made it home safely. Hopefully we will have a warmer week full of sunny days to melt all this white stuff!

Here in Southern California, we don't see much snow unless you go up high in the mountains, so when I see pictures of the snow, my heart sings. It's so beautiful to me.

No snow for us. I'm glad your daughter and sil were able to stay with family. What a mess it can be - but it makes such beautiful pictures.

Our snow is melting fast - but what a nightmare! So many people are without power! Thank goodness, we were spared.
