Cow

In my New Years Day post,
I said I would try to do something new each day
or complete a project to keep things moving forward.
Something that I haven't done in a while is draw.
As a kid it was one of my favorite activities.
So, I was flipping through a recent National Geographic,
my favorite magazine,
and found a photo of a cow.
I thought she was so pretty, I had to try my hand at drawing again.

I know it's not perfect, but I enjoyed working on her.
Isn't she cute?

Now that the weather is warming up,
I'd like to take some of my own photos of farm animals to draw from.
Maybe I'll take a trip with some friends to a local dairy or horse farm next week.
Sounds like fun, doesn't it?
I don't know where my activities will take me, but I'm going to enjoy the journey!
Hope you're having a great week!
-Lynn

I was just reading on how good it is for our brains as we age to continue to learn and study new things. I think your bessie is adorable. A very good likeness of a pig. Just kidding. It is a beautiful horse. Okay I am sorry just couldn't help it. You did great and you should frame it. You know I am kidding you right? Please don't be mad. I am personally a terrible artist.

Lynn, if only I could draw like that! I think your idea of taking your own photos and making drawings is a wonderful one. I remember your New Year's post and being inspired by it. Alas, I haven't followed through on "creativity" very much. Thanks for the nudge!

Lynn, Your drawing of the cow is really good. How much fun to have your talent and enjoy it.
My son is an artist, but he didn't get the talent from me. :)
Have fun and keep on drawing,
Babs

Wow! Your drawing skills aren't rusty at all! Great rendering of the cow. I adore cows and have fond memories of my grandparents farm in upstate New York. The neighbors had cows and I loved them.
