Walkway Over The Hudson

The Fall color seems to have come upon us very quickly
and is disappearing just as fast!
I haven't even gotten a hike in yet!
With that in mind, I decided to make a quick stop at the walkway this morning-
even though there was rain in the forecast-
I took a chance-just a few sprinkles.
I was afraid we'd get a heavy rain and the leaves would be gone!

We are so lucky to have this beautiful walkway in the Hudson Valley.
The walkway is an old railroad bridge converted to a walkway over the Hudson River.
Whenever I have a visitor this is one of the places we go.
Everyone loves it.

The walkway is 1.28 miles long and 212 ft. tall.
Isn't it a pretty place for a run or a stroll?

You can see the Catskill Mountains in the distance.
On the right is Marist College
and the Culinary Institute of America just beyond.
Here's a view to the south.
You can hop on Metro North and be in NYC in about 1 1/2 hrs.
It's a pretty ride along the Hudson.
Hopefully I can get a hike in before the foliage is gone!
If I do, I'll share that with you too.

What's the foliage like in your area?
I wish it the color would stay a little longer-it's my favorite time of year.

Enjoy your day!
-Lynn

What a pretty view! Thanks for sharing your walk.
Not a lot of Fall color here yet, but temps dropping next weekend,so that will probably change. The hickory nut trees are a pretty deep yellow/gold now.

This would be so peaceful walking on here. The view is amazing, and the Fall colors are shining through. It rained a day ago, and the weather is cooler; definately Fall around here. Lynn, if you want to see the Red Rose Alley girls, Nel just did a wedding post. It is the first time that we put pictures of us on there, and will probably be the last haha. I wanted to let you know, as you were one of my first bloggy friends, and that means so much to me.

Aren't you glad you went for that walk. The scenery, the colours, so beautiful!

The colours are magnificent!!! Our colours are more just gold and browns, we don't seem to get many reds. What a great place that would be to go for a walk or even a run. Thanks for showing us this today!

gorgeous pictures / such a beautiful view there!
Foliage is still quite pretty here in western PA but with rain and cold and possibly even snow coming I imagine that this past week will be the end of most of it. We were in the eighties yesterday afternoon though! :)

It's so beautiful and, can you believe this, we've never done the walk across the Hudson!! What are we thinking? I guess it will have to wait until the storm passes. Stay safe and thanks for linking up this week.

You live in such a beautiful area. When I was attending the New York School of Interior Design and living in Manhattan, I tried to get up to your area as often as possible. Your bridge is just the perfect spot for a walk. I can imagine that it is lovely any time of year and certainly glorious with all the fall colors in the background. Enjoy your weekend!

What a beautiful area to hike in! We have lost all our fall color in Wisconsin and I awoke to frost on the ground this morning. I think fall has left for good! I am so happy I had the opportunity to visit your blog from Claudia's Favorite Things--I'll come visit again, and I hope you are safe from the storm this week!
