Walkway Over The Hudson

The Fall color seems to have come upon us very quickly
and is disappearing just as fast!
I haven't even gotten a hike in yet!
With that in mind, I decided to make a quick stop at the walkway this morning-
even though there was rain in the forecast-
I took a chance-just a few sprinkles.
I was afraid we'd get a heavy rain and the leaves would be gone!

We are so lucky to have this beautiful walkway in the Hudson Valley.
The walkway is an old railroad bridge converted to a walkway over the Hudson River.
Whenever I have a visitor this is one of the places we go.
Everyone loves it.

The walkway is 1.28 miles long and 212 ft. tall.
Isn't it a pretty place for a run or a stroll?

You can see the Catskill Mountains in the distance.
On the right is Marist College
and the Culinary Institute of America just beyond.
Here's a view to the south.
You can hop on Metro North and be in NYC in about 1 1/2 hrs.
It's a pretty ride along the Hudson.
Hopefully I can get a hike in before the foliage is gone!
If I do, I'll share that with you too.

What's the foliage like in your area?
I wish it the color would stay a little longer-it's my favorite time of year.

Enjoy your day!

A Dog's Life

"Must be nice to be Bud E.!"
I often say this as he basks in the sun on the deck
or lays in the grass, chewing a bone
or
snuggles up in "his" living room chair
or
hunts around the wooded hill of the back yard where he has free reign.

Bud E. is our 8 year old lab.
He's a good guy.

He likes to keep me company.
He follows me throughout the house,
upstairs, downstairs, into my art room or into the kitchen-hoping for a little treat.
He especially loves to watch me grill-just in case there's something extra.
Sometimes I feel bad when I'm running from room,
he follows me until I finally stop and then he lays down near me for a nap.

When everyone's home he wants to be in the middle of everything!
Of course, he's one of the family!

Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

Creating

Hi Everyone!
Hope you're having a great day.
My computer seems to be working now-so far, so good.
It's raining today, but that's ok, it forces me to
get things done that I like to put off.
 I admit I hate housework-laundry, etc.
Just because I stopped working to raise my kids, doesn't mean I love to vacuum,
scrub woodwork with a tooth brush, etc., etc.!
Don't get me wrong-my house is always neat-
or rather, as neat as it can be with 2 teens and a big labrador retriever!
I do love to cook and bake.
Most of all I love to create.
That's how I spend my time-making jewelry, accessories, painting, etc.
I have been working on a lot of jewelry lately!

Here's a peek at my desk-
I usually keep things in groups by color.

Does your workspace look like this?

Do you need everything out?
I do.

I need to see all of my treasures, try this with that,
until I find the right combination.

While digging through my findings, I have my tv on, usually on news stations, National Geographic
or some nature show.
Maybe news stations are not a good idea-sometimes I get very riled up and have to turn it off-
not good for the creative process!
That's when I listen to my I-Pod.

What is your creative space like?
How do you create?

Good Morning!

Just a quick post to say "Hello!"
Hope you're having a good weekend.
Any fun plans?
So far the weather is nice, perfect for taking some Fall photos.
The Hudson Valley is so beautiful this time of year-
some of the leaves have just started to turn.

Hmmm, for some reason my computer won't let me load any photos-
hopefully, when I call Apple they'll have an easy solution.
I think my favorite posts are of the changing seasons-
so I hope to fix this computer quickly and start posting.

Oh, I've also been working on some new jewelry.
I'll have to show you that too-when all is fixed.

Enjoy your long weekend!
See you soon.
